Clerk Salary in the 8th Pay Commission
Senior clerks are placed in Pay Level 5. At present, the lowest basic pay is Rs 29,200. Along with this, employees also get allowances like grade pay, DA, and HRA.
When the 8th Pay Commission is applied, this amount will rise. Clerks are expected to see a big jump in their in-hand salary.
Role of Fitment Factor
The fitment factor is the key point in salary changes. As per estimates, the fitment factor may increase up to 2.86.
If that happens, clerks’ pay will rise sharply. Even with a smaller increase in the factor, the final salary will still grow well.
How Much Salary for Senior Clerks?
Experts say the new fitment factor could be between 1.92 and 2.08. In this case, the salary will grow but not as high as the maximum prediction.
But, if the fitment factor touches 2.86, the senior clerk’s basic salary could reach around Rs 83,000. On top of this, DA and HRA will be added. This will make the final salary package quite big.
